Includes digital copy of the 2010 special edition of Rolling Stone magazine

"The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time" was the cover story of a special issue of Rolling Stone magazine, issue number 963, first published in December 9, 2004, a year after the magazine published its list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". The song list was chosen based on votes by 172 musicians, critics, and music-industry figures. In May 2010, Rolling Stone compiled an updated list which was published in a special issue and in digital form for iPod and iPad applications. The list differs only slightly from the 2004 version, with the only additions being 24 songs from the 2000s and 2 songs from the 1990s.
NOTE: I'll be uploading the entire list in the next 9 posts with all songs in high quality for the very first time. Most of the songs came from my personal collection, while others came from high quality copies of the original albums. Cannibal is the first extended play (EP) by American recording artist Ke$ha, released on November 19, 2010. Originally the record was set to only be released as a deluxe edition of Animal, but was instead sold and released as both an EP and a deluxe edition. Ke$ha worked with a variety of producers and writers such as Dr. Luke as the executive producer, Benny Blanco, Ammo, Max Martin, Bangladesh and others. In the United States, Cannibal entered the Billboard 200 on the week of December 2, 2010 at n# 15, selling 74,000 copies in its first week of release. In Canada, Cannibal entered the Canadian Hot 100 at n# 14, where the album reached its peak. In most regions, Cannibal was released as a deluxe edition of Animal and charted as Animal + Cannibal. "We R Who We R" was released as the EP's lead single on October 22, 2010. Kesha said she was affected by the recent teenage suicides, in particular Tyler Clementi who committed suicide after being outed as gay by his roommate. She elaborated, "I was really affected [..] having been subject to very public hatred [myself]. I have absolutely no idea how these kids felt. What I'm going through is nothing compared to what they had to go through. Just know things do get better and you need to celebrate who you are". She hopes the song will be an anthem for "weirdos", and said, "Every weird thing about you is beautiful and makes life interesting. Hopefully the song really captures that emotion of celebrating who you are". "We R Who We R" debuted at n# 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, shifting over 280,000 digital copies. As such, the song became the seventeenth song in the history of the chart to accomplish that feat. The song has also reached n# 1 in Australia, and n# 2 in Canada.

Save Me San Francisco is the fifth album from California rock band Train, first released on October 27, 2009. The album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on 09/09/10. The first single, "Hey, Soul Sister", which marked a return to the group's folk-rock roots, was released to digital retailers on August 11, 2009 and has since become Train's fourth-career Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and second career top 10 hit, reaching n# 3 twenty six weeks after it was released. It is also the band's highest-peaking single to date in their native United States, as well as Canada, Australia, the Netherlands and New Zealand. The follow-up single, "If It's Love" (released after the promo single Save Me San Francisco on the adult album alternative chart), has become Train's most successful secondary single to date: becoming Train's fourth-career chart-topping single on the Adult Top 40 and peaking at n# 34 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Marry Me" was released on October 25th as the third single off the record — it debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #95.With their diminished commercial standing at the time of its release, Save Me San Francisco debuted at #17 on the Billboard 200, their first album not to debut in the chart's Top Ten since their self-titled debut release. The album quickly descended the chart in subsequent weeks until, at one point, it exited the Billboard 200 altogether. However, buoyed by the breakout success of Train's biggest single to date ("Hey, Soul Sister"), the album has since enjoyed a resurgence; steadily climbing the Billboard 200 back to a position of #20 the chart week of August 21st, 2010, 39 weeks after its release. The album was certified Gold in the US on 09/09/2010, with sales of over 500,000 copies. The album has also enjoyed modest levels of international success to date. After their previous album For Me, It's You failed to chart the ARIA Albums chart altogether, Save Me San Francisco reached a peak of #8 on the aforementioned chart: their best chart showing since "Drops Of Jupiter" peaked at #3 in 2001.
